California Animal Rehabilitation and Emergency Surgery (C.A.R.E.S.) was founded in 2019 with the mission of helping more dogs and cats access advanced veterinary care when cost might otherwise stand in the way.
What began as a hospital serving rescue animals through Hope for Paws has grown into an 11,000-square-foot surgical facility supporting rescue organizations and individual pet owners throughout greater Los Angeles.
Today, that same purpose guides every part of how we work, from board-certified surgical care to the technology and communication systems that help us operate efficiently.
Care Without Compromise
C.A.R.E.S. was built around the belief that making veterinary care more affordable should not mean lowering medical standards.
Our team provides advanced surgical care from experienced veterinary professionals, established diagnostics, and high-quality surgical materials. Our chief of surgery is board-certified, and our animal hospital offers a wide range of orthopedic and soft tissue cases.
Instead of cutting back on patient care, we focus on reducing costs behind the scenes.
That is the idea behind our pet-first pricing approach: create a more efficient hospital so more resources can stay focused on treatment, recovery, and the animals who need us.
A Smarter, More Efficient Hospital Model
Technology is an important part of how C.A.R.E.S. keeps care accessible.
Our hospital uses digital systems and voice-based technology to reduce administrative work and help our medical team spend more time focused on patients. We also operate without a traditional reception department, which helps lower overhead while keeping communication organized.
These efficiencies allow us to support both rescue organizations and pet owners while maintaining the level of surgical care our patients require.
How Does Communication With C.A.R.E.S. Work?
C.A.R.E.S. uses a digital communication model rather than a traditional front-desk system.
Pet owners and rescue organizations begin by submitting a consultation request through the online app. Once your information is received, a member of our team reviews the request and follows up by text to discuss next steps.
This system helps us keep communication streamlined, reduce administrative costs, and direct more resources toward patient care.
Because C.A.R.E.S. operates by appointment, we do not accept walk-ins.
Care With Purpose
C.A.R.E.S. combines board-certified surgical expertise, efficient technology, and a mission-driven approach to help remove barriers to advanced veterinary care.
If your dog or cat needs surgery or advanced treatment, or you represent a rescue organization seeking care for an animal in need, start by submitting a consultation request through our online app.
